Dear Ormsby-Gore,

One of my constituents, Captain Basil Taylour, R.N.,

of 9 Rosary Gardens, S.W., complains that he has been deprived

by the Colonial Office of certain pay and bonus to which he is

entitled, in accordance with the arrangement made with him

set out in Bonar Law's letter of the 1st June 1916, when the

latter was Under-Secretary for the Colonies.

I enclose typed statement prepared by Captain

Taylour setting out the facts, and shall be much obliged if

you will kindly have enquiries made into the matter.

It is understood that a miscalculation of the amount of Adung bonus, which we have been due to be refunded to you under the Treasury decision, the CA have found to be a sum of $22-4-6, which it will be necessary for you to refund.

Lord Milner has nothing to add to the previous communication from this Dept. with regard to the other deductions which have been made in your letter of the 20th ult.
